“Jesus saith unto them, ‘My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.’”  (John 4:34 KJV)

I had lost my appetite due to the treatments that I had to go through. One of the side effects of the treatments was it being painful to swallow.  And it was!  I had to see a nutritionist to help me with my appetite and swallowing. I was very tired, but holding on to Jesus, when the young woman led my husband and me to the room where we would have a talk with her.

She was very charming, caring and understanding. She knew her profession very well and was quite  knowledgeable and helpful. As we talked and listened to her, I noticed that the name on her badge was biblical. I was not sure what to say to start a conversation about Jesus. I was tired. I simply could not open my mouth to talk about Jesus. I said to the Lord, “Jesus, I just can’t talk about You. I am so nervous.” In an instant, the Spirit of God opened my mouth!

“Do you know that your name is a biblical name?” I asked her.

My husband smiled. He watched and listened, already rejoicing in what God was going to do.

Her face turned as red as a beet! “Yes, I know this.”

“That name is very significant. Do you know that not everyone can carry that name for God, as they are meant to do? It is not easy, but it is an honor and blessing from God.” Her face was still very red.

“For you to be able to represent God with that name, you must know Him,” I said.

“I am Catholic,” she commented.

I responded, “I used to be a Catholic. You understand that Jesus is the Saviour of the world, but you must know Him as your personal Saviour as well. I know this because I asked God to tell me who He is, and He did. Jesus spoke to me Himself. He told me that I could not go to the Father, but through Him. He let me know of His love for me and that He gave His life for me on the cross for my sins. What He told me is in the Bible.”

Intrigued, her eyes grew big. “I love that story!”

My husband and I glanced at each other and smiled.

“You know I have a statue of St. Anthony on my desk because he is the one who cares about others and I care about the people that come here.” She explained.

I said, “You have to understand that there is no mediator between man and God, not Anthony, Mary, Peter, Joseph or any other. Only the Son of God, Jesus is the mediator between man and God because He is the One who died on the cross for our sins.”

She was silent as she pondered this. I waited for a few moments. “Jesus is gentle. He is not forceful. You must ask Him to be your personal Saviour. Would you like for me to pray with you to ask Him?”

Without hesitation she quickly said, “Yes, if you would like to pray, yes.”

With hands folded, eyes closed, heads bowed, we prayed, and she believed in Jesus as her personal Saviour and gave her life to Him for His glory.

She gave me her business card, “I’ve written my personal contact number on it. Please call me anytime.” I was so surprised. Her heart was now the Lord’s and was open to more conversation about Him.

“Father in Heaven, I am still weak, but You hold me in Your hands.  To do anything is difficult. But, I can do all things through your Son Jesus who strengthen’s me. I simply cannot handle all of this. But, You are my help.  I need You, Jesus. You are my strength and my rock.  In the moments that my thoughts are seeking Your face for Your help, You are right there to answer me, my Lord. I could not have opened my mouth to talk about You to this young nutritionist had it not been that the Father was already drawing her to know You, Jesus. With the Holy Spirit’s help, I was able to share with the simplest words about You. And, my Lord and Saviour, You have another soul! I rejoice! How You and all the angels must be celebrating!”
