“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10 KJV)

I had been undergoing some very difficult treatments. Just entering the room where the huge machines were was very challenging. I had no one to look to but Jesus to get through what was ahead, moment by moment.

My heart’s concern was that I could not even talk about Jesus as I trembled. The more treatments I had, the more my body grew weak. How was I going to be a strong witness of salvation in Him in such weakness? Even though my thoughts were on Jesus, I kept silent about Him, as I looked at the young technicians who were going to do the treatment.

“Do you mind if I pray before we get started?” I asked the three young female technicians. To my surprise, they gathered around me, each placing their hands in mine, eyes closed and heads bowed. I prayed. When I was done and said, “Amen,” they also said, “Amen,” even though they were not born-again.

This became part of the treatment session a few times. I would pray with them before the treatment. The prayer had to be short, though, because of the amount of time needed for the treatment.

One of the technicians was very skilled and precise when doing the treatments. She was also very compassionate. Somehow, she understood how I felt and—with deep compassion—she made sure she would be the one to do the treatments. I too made sure she would be the one, because it was so hard, and my trust in her skill grew. This young woman expressed an interest in God, but I was so weak in heart that I had no idea how I was going to tell her about Jesus.

Finally, after one of the treatments, we were alone, and, while I still lay on the table, I asked her if she had ever prayed to believe in Jesus. She looked at me with deep sincerity. I then got up off the table and asked, “Have you ever prayed with anyone to ask Jesus to be your personal Saviour?” This language was new to her, but her heart was open. She shared a little about her background. I then asked her, “Would you like for me to pray with you to know Jesus?”

She asked, “Will it take a long time?” I assured her that it would not, and, with an humble heart, she bowed her head and placed her hands together as we prayed. She sweetly and joyously gave her life to Jesus!

It was almost Christmas. In a very unique gift bag I gave her a bible and a daily devotional. She wrapped her arms around the gift bag and held it close to her heart. Thereafter, just the mention of the Lord, this young woman expressed such delight and joy!

“Abba, Father, how weak I still am to even write about this. But I have seen that in my weakest moments, You are strong. I have seen, Jesus, that in my weakest, trembling state, You are strong! I have seen that even when I cannot talk about You, Jesus, the Holy Spirit is bearing witness of who You are—Jesus, the Son of God, who loves the lost and saves them for eternity!
