I was contacted by a church to meet with a Muslim woman from Afghanistan.

Though I was not completely sure as to what the situation was all about, I made the appointment to meet with her by a water fountain in the center of town. She was a very young and beautiful woman.

After our introduction, she immediately began to share her troubled situation.

It was rather sad and complicated. As I listened wholeheartedly to her, I thought that no one could help her but Jesus. I said to her, “I am so sorry that you are going through this. No one can help you but the Son of God, Jesus Christ.”

She said, “I have to understand A to Z about that.” I responded, “You have to believe in Him and then you will understand. Your situation is so painful that you will need Jesus to help you with that too.” She stared at the ground as she began to share more about the situation, desperation, pain, rejection, and loneliness.

My heart was saddened to see such a sweet and loving woman go through such a situation away from her home and family. All I could offer her was Jesus. She needed him so desperately. I asked her, “Would you like to know the ONE who can help you? He is the only one that you can look to.” She said, with a sound of hope in her voice, “Yes, I would.”

My hand was on the edge of the brick wall where we were sitting. She placed her hand on mine, and we began to pray. Huge teardrops fell from her eyes onto the brick wall, as she believed and confessed Jesus as the Son of God and her Saviour.

Her tears were so thick as she prayed, that I asked her, “What does that feel like?” With elated delight she looked at me and said, “This is powerful.” And, she gave a huge smile!

My heart was silent as I witnessed the power of salvation in Christ enter this Muslim Afghanistani woman, as she believed in JESUS!

“Abba, Father, Your mercy extends to the ends of the earth because of Your Son!”

“Messiah, King of Kings, Jesus, Son of God, You are the only ONE who knows the heart of this woman. You do not cast out those who come to you with a broken heart. You heal the broken and bind their wounds.”

“Holy Spirit, only You could have revealed the A to Z of the Son of God, the Christ God, the Alpha and Omega to this young Muslim woman!”

(The next time I saw her, she was volunteering at the church and in fellowship with other believers. Her understanding of life in Christ was growing.)

“Glory to You, Messiah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords!”
