We were sitting outside of Pete’s Coffee & Teas. A wind picks up. I notice a man who appears to be a distinguished, successful, foreign businessman. He is looking around the area for something. I look at him, and he explains that the wind carried off the back panel to his cell phone.

I am waiting on my husband to finish the last details of his writing on his laptop.

I notice the man again. He makes the same remark about his phone. I notice that he has three cell phones. He looks at them and then at me and says, “Everyone is entrenched in technology.” I comment, “Or in money, success, business, family.” He has a sincere, thoughtful expression. “Yes, this is true,” he sighs.

Finally, it dawns on me that perhaps we are still at this coffee place because God wants to tell this man about His Son. I say to him, “The reason so many are entrenched in technology and other things is because they don’t know God. And, it is He whom they need to be free.

He listens. I tell him, “God wants you to know who His Son is. He is the only way to heaven. All other ways are to hell.”

“I believe in what you are saying,” he replies. His eyes are filled with serious wonder.

“Would you like to know Him?” I ask. Would you like to pray to ask Him now?”

He lifts his hand, gently gesturing, “Ahhh … well … I will.”

“Well, when you do, let me help you talk with Him,” I say. “It is a simple confession. He will listen to you. You should try to pray, something like this, “Father …” But before I proceed, he starts to pray with me.

I continue. We pray. He repents of his sins and confesses Jesus as the Son of God and invites Him into His life. As we finish, his face looks relieved and satisfied. He stands up, and extends his hand to shake mine. Smiling, he thanks me.

I give him two CDs and tell him what Bible to read and where to start. He has his cell phone on with a photo that he wants us to look at. He says, “Look, this is my daughter.” She is standing in front of the concert hall in Paris at the time of the November 2015 terror event. “I could not find her for three days.”

I say, “God watched over her and kept her. And, now you know Him, and He lives inside of you. He has been watching over your life all this time. He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

He says, “I believe, and I know it!”

A couple of days later, we see him again. This time he sits with us. With joy, peace and excitement, he says, “I had the best Sunday that I have every had in my life.” He explains that he is a businessman working on a global project that involves the U.S., Europe and Iran. He is Iranian. He was a Muslim, but now He believes in Jesus.

We have a short discussion about the political situation. He asks me what my church says about it. I tell him that we don’t focus on questions about political problems, but on the answer. And, that the answer is the Son of God, Jesus. He is in deep thought about it and then affirms that it is “Truth.”

“Abba, my very soul exults in You! Hear my voice. May it reach beyond Your heavens to Your throne in worship and praise, for salvation belongs to Your Son! Father, my very being is infiltrated with Your Spirit, and I cannot contain Your love that penetrates the very existence of You inside of me. I cannot contain the power of Your love in this temple. Holy Spirit, help me to carry this wondrous and marvelous salvation in this temple and give it to the lost with Your power.

“Messiah! I lift up Your name with a loud voice above the earth, that You may draw all men to You! Glorify Your Name! Save Souls, Messiah! For the time is short. It is Your will that all should be saved and not perish. Take from the enemy the souls that He tries to snatch for Himself to live in utter darkness.

“In Your Cross, Your triumphant power peruses them with a vehement jealousy to make them Your own. Your blood has been poured out for them, that sin may be cleansed and eternity with You may come into them. You are the Light in their darkness!”

Be thou exalted, YHWH, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power. (Psalm 21:13, KJV)

The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. (Matthew 4:16)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12)

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Acts 26:18

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20)

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2 Corinthians 4:7)
